Joshua Primary School was started in 2003 to address the challenge of Universal Primary Education and to facilitate sponsored children of primary age to receive a quality education.

2008 saw the completion of the last two classrooms P6 and P7. The P7 class commenced in 2009.

Students at JPS receive breakfast (porridge) and lunch which for some is the only food that they eat each day. The licensing and registering of the school was achieved in June 2009 this will enable P7 candidates to register for the National examinations.

The Child Care Department at BCC coordinates the sponsorship of 400 orphans. each sponsored child receives school fees, a uniform, stationery, medical care and in dire circumstances, a welfare allowance for food and shelter.
